Cars, and SGA

Hah. My mother and I have reached a peace over the car, because I was uber grown up and mature and sensible about it and stuff. Like totally! :D She may even have been won over by my pro-Fiesta arguments.
I win at life :)
In other news, I just rewatched Still made of awesome! I loved just about everything about it. I'd forgotten how great Teal'c is when they let him do stuff, rather than just wallpapering the SGC. Sam was totally cute when she was greeting him and showing off her new station. I loved the little line about military protocol being "relaxed" (hah!), and the Teal'c/Ronon stuff was all great, from their first meeting where Ronon was so "I don't need this shit", to when they finally reached an understanding. All the fighting was cool too - against each other and against the Wraith. I suppose we still haven't answered the oft-asked question of who would win a fight between Teal'c and Ronon, but we're one step closer ;)
Teyla was also looking awesome. I totally understand, of course, that Rachel needed a lot of time off while she was expecting the baby, and it's entirely better that she takes care of herself than that she does the long days on set and all that, but it's a shame we didn't get to see Teyla meeting Teal'c. That would've been really interesting.
I liked the plot too - the Wraith being sensible and having a well-thought-out plan of evil, rather than just blundering around growing. I liked that the two Wraith in the control room seemed to sort of mirror Rodney and John, in that one of them was the military in-charge one, trying to get answers out of Drs Lee and Kavanagh and RedShirt, while the other one worked his science-fu to make it all come together. I like that we're getting scientist!Wraith and Military!Wraith and stuff. I wonder if there are English-Major!Wraiths and Stay-at-home-dad!Wraiths and whatnot.
I loved seeing Kavanagh again, and him getting a first name was fun. It's nice to have some continuity of characters within the Universe - we had Bates before, and now Kavanagh back again. Just great :) I do worry about Bill Lee's kids though. Their dad gets beamed away from their vacation, and then taken off to work on the Midway station for god knows how many months - they must barely see him! :( Poor kids. Poor wife, assuming they're still together!
The John/Rodney stuff was all so lovely, I don't really feel the need to put it into words :) I did, however, laugh and laugh (quite inappropriately, given the danger of the situation) when John radioed Rodney from a closet. Fantastic ;)
I'm really looking forward to the post-episode fic on this one. Mm :)
I also accidentally watched the trailer for next week. DOH!!! I won't say anything about it at all, because I'm going to try to forget I saw it. I wish I'd stopped myself, but once it started I just couldn't. DOH! Bad me.
