I would really, really love to. Except that I'm heading off to this thing in Cardiff in November and there is no way I can afford to go to both :( It's even Paul McGillion who I really wanted to see last year and was kinda upset when he showed up to the SG1 con and not Peg2.
Ah, you lot and your Torchwood madness. Spending that much money to be stuck in a room with James Marsters for a day!
That said, I did see him once, a few years ago at the Harvest con, and he was actually pretty good, and very charismatic. I don't like him at all, and yet I came over all weak-kneed for a moment when he was signing my CD. And I know you're not really going for him ;)
If I do go, and McGillion is there, I can get you an autograph. Not the same, I know, but it's something.
Hee! Yeah, that best describes us. Madness. I'll be honest and say that I never got into Angel or Buffy so I have vitually no idea who James Marsters is! I remember him off a few episodes of Andromeda and that's it. It should be quite the freak show and any excuse to go to Cardiff ;)
Cheers for the offer on the autograph. I actually wrote him a letter a little over a year ago and he sent me back a lovely personalized autograph so no need.
I so wish I was going to Cardiff with you and Riv! Maybe I should give up this whole student thing, get a proper job and spend all my money hanging out with you lot? I think that's probably the best plan.
It's going to be a blast. I promise lots of photographs and to have fun! Don't give up on the student thing! I can't wait to get back to doing it next year. You just have to do the student thing in England so we can meet up all the time and have zainy adventures.
The main thing you need to know about Marsters is that he has a lot of insane fans. Seriously, those guys make the Hewlett crazies look like paragons of sanity. Watch yourself, and don't take your eyes off them for a second.
They are certainly up there in the mad fan rankings. But then anyone who's anyone seems to have insane fans these days, so perhaps it's a mark of quality or something ;)
AH WILL GO. Though I cannot buy a ticket for a couple of months. But feck it, count me in! I really don't care either way about Paul McGillion, but maybe Jason Momoa will turn up?
But most importantly, I can hang out with your good self. *g*
Though, it depends on one thing. I would give a sizeable portion of my entire wealth to see Federer V Sampras at Madison Square Garden in March. If I can afford them both, I'll go. If not, I'll have to skip Peg 3.
If that happens, we should TOTALLY do as Riv said and just meet up in a non-convention way. (I was going to type "non-con" but that could be misconstrued.)
I don't know. I'm waiting for ticket information but I have no idea when it'll be coming out. I have no idea how exhibition prices compare to normal tournament prices. I know, I know, not very helpful, am I? Sorry!
It's just Paul McGillion, who I really don't have any big love for even though I'm sure he's a lovely chap and everything, Vs Pete Sampras, whom I have loved since... since ever? lol! No contest! And New York! ♥
But then, you guys, and I missed the last one... angst angst angst.
Thanks so much for the info about Hollyoaks, btw! Now I can put in a sentence or two in the thesis, and every sentence helps. :)
No worries :) I just wondered if you had any idea of timescale. To be honest, we could probably get Peg3 tickets the week before, if necessary. We'd just have to stay in a different hotel, which is no big deal. So there's no worry about it.
I don't have any particularly strong feelings on McGillion either, or Sampras really, but I quite understand :) And New York is cool. Just sadly v expensive, although not as bad as it once was.
By the looks of things Peg3 would just be me, so it's not really a big fan meet up. Everyone else seems far more interested in a non-con not-con meetup, and that'd be cheaper too so less likely to impact on the tennis.
YW re: Hollyoaks :) I'm glad to hear you're able to get one or two sensible sentences out of that rambling email ;)
Yep, non-con all the way! heh heh heh. Seriously, though, I think if we could get it together to organise something like that, it would rock. Even more than a con because there wouldn't be that awkward sort of pressure I often feel that I should be in the main hall when all I want to be doing is sitting around talking boykissing with you lot!
Heh, of course :) But you're always working the entire time and doing stewardly things, so more often than not I spot you once across a crowded room and that's it! Although I suppose I could always volunteer to steward again. It just feels a bit odd stewarding in my free time when it's (sort of) what I do for work! We'll see though. I doubt I can really resist the pull of SGA.
