Up sides of temporary new job:
- I have decamped to R's desk, which is in the quieter, cooler office
- I don't have to answer the phone, or even pretend that I'm just about to, because I am so absorbed in Important Work
- due to the above, I can listen to my iPod all day
- R's keyboard makes this nice clacky sound when I type, like an old style keyboard. Because it is one.

Down sides of temporary new job:
- It's hard!
- I don't know what I'm doing
- I think I'm getting stress ulcers
- did I mention I don't know what I'm doing?
- this office is cold
- no one is IMing me, commenting, or even posting on LJ. What, do you all suddenly have, like, jobs to do or something?! ;) Not that I'd really be able to chat much, mind you. I have tonnes to do. I just don't know what it is. Eugh.

Eeep! Still, nice office, that's got to count for a lot. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it, you seem bright enough. ;)

Do you like clicky keyboards? I am jealous of everyone else's smooth black ones. Mine looks clean until you look between the keys - a dangerous, dusty place. I tried to clean it once but to little avail.

My old office was all right too. I just got less done. Which was how I liked it, really. ;) I think it has been firmly established by all and sundry that I am Dumb As A Box Of Hair, so I hold out no great hopes of getting this stuff figured out, especially as it is all so totally counter intuitive and relies on knowing stuff like wtf is going on. Which I do not.

I have a smooth black keyboard normally, one of those Dell ones, but this one makes a much more satisfying noise when I type. I'm sure they're all dirty between the keys though.

Sorry, I'd just gotten a very Bridget Jones mental image of you...my mind works in mysterious ways.

Heh. Bridget Jones would not be a wholly inaccurate point of reference, although she has a far more interesting life than I do. And she probably gets paid more too. But then again, I bet her keyboard doesn't click as nicely as mine. *g*

You mean I'm not the only one who likes clacky keyboards!? I thought I was alone. Is it weird that I like the sound of typing?

If you're weird, I'm weird too. It's a very satisfying noise. I'm not sure why, but it is.

See I'm torn, I like clacky keyboards at home, but prefer quiet ones at work (I suppose so my boss can't hear how much work I'm *not* doing)!

Having had my boss once say, as I tapped out a slightly long piece of fb on LJ one day, "What's that you're writing, a novel?" I entirely sympathise. *g* However, my boss isn't here right now. MwhahahAHAHAHAHAhahahaha! I am free to spend as much time on LJ as I like. *eg*

My bosses have caught on and have started alternating their holidays so one is usually still around! Who told bosses they were allowed to learn, they never usually do!

My bosses are married. To each other, I mean. They're off visiting Boss MJ's parents in Spain, with their two kids in tow, so they kind of have to go together. *eg* I think when they get back and discover that we've all spent three weeks skiving off, they'll resolve not to go on holiday ever again, but until then.. Well, let's just say I think there are plans afoot to go back to their house for lunch, and then to go swimming in their pool tomorrow. Uhuh. We are Bad. Not me, others, obviously. I don't swim, for one thing.

Our bosses may as well be married - they have built matching houses next door to each other in Italy and often spend their holidays together (this is two blokes, mind you - Work RPS or what?)
