Hey. Interesting icon. Is it black and white for artistic reasons, or to keep the size down?

To keep the size down, I think. I have to admit I didn't do it myself, I snagged it when it was offered. Evil me, huh?

Not at all - good taste you. There are so many lovely icons out there. Sometimes they're your own, sometimes they're someone elses. I like black and white - it's very artistic. And also space-saving *g*

Thank you.

Speaking of nice men and women in our iconses - you read the Doctor Who spoilers for next season?

I've seen The Picture, but otherwise I'm staying spoiler free.

I was so completely spoiled for the finale of Buffy - like I'd read the entire script - it was a huge let down when it actually aired. And then for Angel I stayed spoiler free and loved it. After that, it's been my policy to avoid spoilers. I find I enjoy things that much more when my expectations haven't been raised too much.

I just posted! Not very interesting though. I feel I have not been overly interesting recently. Woe.

Yay comments :) Also, v pretty icon <3

Yes, I read your post, and went "why aren't more people posting! Everyone should be making posts just like this one! Right now!" Hence my post. Heh. You are always interesting. Also, your fic reccing journal (which I love, btw) crashes my Opera.

I know, I love that icon. So pretty.

Really? I felt quite boring. And rude because I am attempting to thieve music from people. Haha. *snuggles you for saying I am interesting*

Shit, that's not good. I shall poke B when she gets back from shopping to see if she knows how to fix it. Does that mean you can't see the post HBP recs then? Or you just can't go on it to look for old posts?

I think everyone feels boring on LJ because we mostly just talk about our own lives, which are interesting to other people, but don't always feel interesting to us because we're stuck living them 24/7 so they aren't new to us. The only people who don't think they're boring are the people who actually are.

I mean it literally crashes my Opera. When I type in the URL for the actual [livejournal.com profile] seshats_library page, Opera has a fatal error and closes itself down. It might just be my settings, as it worked just now on IE, and it may work on IE at home. I'll look in to it at my end. Thought I'd mention it though. Sometimes I think "oh yes, must read that one when I have some time", and then when time presents itself I go back to find the rec and can't because of the crash-age. I'm reading that Transfiguration one atm. Nice. *g*

*g* True!

Crap. Shall ask if anyone else has hat problem. So you can see the recs as I post, and if you click comment (as that doesn't see the layout) but not the main page? Not good! Thanks for letting me know!

Ooh, Transfiguration is so good. I'm tempted to re-read it, but know I will only end up thinking that it is canon, so I am holding out. Hehe.

Yeah, that's it exactly. It's not normally a problem - I just scroll back through my flist a few pages - but I thought I'd mention it while you were here. It might be Opera being a pain in the arse or it might, like I say, be my own settings.

I am so confused about what is canon these days. Trying to remember which things I read in fics and which I read in the actual HBP is getting to be hard work! I put it down to the quality of (some) fanfic. And my own crappy memory ;)

You're off to Accio this weekend, yes?

Ah, ok, I shall see what I can do about it. Worse comes to worse, I beg B for a new layout and fix it up for you! *g*

I know, fanfic is getting too good - I confuse it ALL the time. Especially if a fic is not centred on a relationship. Though the slash is usually a good way to remember NOT CANON. Hahaha.

I am! I am so over excited it's not true. I wish you guys were coming, that would be so great.

Aw, bless you :)

I can usually (not always..) remember when it's boykissing that that wasn't something JKR wrote, but sometimes I forget that scenes are from slashfics not the books, especially with preslash type stuff like Shoebox Project. I'm like, "but that time they were locked in the potions cupboard together in the dark, all that sexual tension and ... oh wait, yeah, that was *fic*, not HBP." Still, it makes my reading experience more interesting, including re-reading HBP to find out what *actually* happened in it ;)

I was looking at a day reg for Saturday or something, but it's so expensive, and getting to Reading from Farnham by train, while not impossible, would be time-consuming, especially late in the evening coming back. Also I've left it rather late to get a ticket! Maybe for the next one, by which time I will be teh rich, and hopefully also driving a car. *g*

Oh, I do that too. Haha. So easy. *giggles*

The price of the con isn't too bad if you stay because it would be the same as a cheapish con and a hotel room on my own, so I figured it was worth it. Of course, this was back when I had money XD. But the day tickets *are* expensive. You should definitely come next time, though! *persuades*

I am so hyper abot meeting everyone. There should be more meet-ups. Meeting people is fun.

That's true. I usually go and share a room with one or two other people, which brings the price of that down a bit, but it is still not bad considering the accommodation is included. And it's a proper conference style programme - talks! Panels! All those different tracks - how to choose? Fabulous :) I hope you'll do a write up when you get back so that those of us who aren't going can live vicariously. My next con isn't until November! So long to wait :(

Yeah, I know, but I figured it that way to justify it to myself, hahaha.

Oh, I'm so excited and I barely know what's going on. Though I do know that I plan to play quidditch. I love me my sports, hee.

November isn't that far away! Which con is that? Serenity 2?

I will take my laptop as well so there will hopefully be a report of somekind. I'm shite at writing things likke that down, haha.

Yay for Serenity. I have [livejournal.com profile] mattimooz's copy of Firefly, and I still haven't watched it. *shame* I really must.

Did the typing in thing, opening in a new window and in a new page. No negative reactions so far.

My settings: Id as opera, no java, but javascript allowed and I work with zonealarm pro firewall which blocks java and activex. I'm behind a router, on XP and my java version is 1.4.2_06.

Emony? Maybe that helps for comparison purposes? Otherwise tell me your settings and I see if I can recreate it on mine.

I'm at work right now, so I can't tell you my settings, but it sounds like it's probably me. I'll update my Opera tonight, check my settings, and see if it isn't just my system being crappy, which it sounds like it is. Thanks though :)
