Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for?

Your expected outcome:

Liberal Democrat

Your actual outcome:

Labour -1
Conservative -28
Liberal Democrat 47
UK Independence Party 2
Green 24

You should vote: Liberal Democrat

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

I'm surprised it's -1 for Labour, and shocked and appalled that it's +2 for UKIP. Otherwise, expected.

Lib Dems sound more left than Labour... Don't know why, but I had this image of Lib dems like a center party, kinda like those demo-christian parties we have here in the continent.

In theory the Lib Dems are the centre party, with Labour on the left and the Tories on the right, but these days, Labour have moved over to the centre-right, the Tories have moved a bit more to the right, and the Lib Dem have fouond themselves sucked into the vaccum of the centre-left.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks. I guess I got my ideas from history class or something.

Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to see that in our evening news your elections went before the Pope and Rainier of Monaco in the International section. Something interesting to watch at least!

The Pope and Prince Rainier are still in the news? Man, we are so over that. But then I guess we do have an election going on. That kicks pretty much everything off the front pages over here. Except anything to do with terrorists, but even that's still in an election context. The Pope is so last week ;)

LOL

That's my country for you. There's lack of interesting news, mind you. The Basques are having a local election next Sunday, but it's all very complicated and no one understands what's going on, they made a party illegal, another one appeared... Too complicated. You are easier and for some reason certain press here is having fun trying to decide if you'll keep Tony or not.

I just took this, even though I'm American and can't vote in your elections. Apparently I'm Lib Dem, too. LOL.

Mnie came out as LibDem too, which is good. I avoided any points on the UKIP scale, though, for which I am grateful.
