King Baby - I don't know if I was meant to, but I laughed quite a bit through this one, and again actually in Big Middle. Maybe they're bringing the fun back to the show, or maybe I'm just hearing it more, I don't know, but I enjoyed both eps. I actually rewatched King Baby yesterday, which I haven't done for any other s5 ep so far.

The whole "let's see how many 'alternative lifestyles' we can explore in one season" thing is all well and good, but I'd kind of like to go back to some good old-fashioned murders. I know, 5 seasons, it can get tough to find new non-obvious ways for people to die, but they get paid $$$ to do exactly that, so they really ought to at least try.

Anyway, King Baby was certainly interesting. Mostly though, my brain just drew in the Greg/Ecklie scenes (see my new favourite icon), and the rest was just the rest. Nick was adorable. I think Catherine is having a bit of a tough time being a shift supervisor and is accusing everyone of thinking she can't hack it because she doesn't think she can hack it. Will be interesting to see how that progresses.

As for Big Middle, which I watched just now, I am apparently in the minority but I thought it was really good. Okay, it wasn't a huge and violent mystery who killed the dude at the con, but it was cool to learn about the whole sports betting system (was a total mystery to me, that. I'm so glad Warrick explained it all), and I thought the handling of the larger women was pleasantly good.

Greg was cute, especially when he was being squished, and being entirely decent but not in a "must be decent" sort of way with the ladies, although that last scene gave me nervous chills.

Greg: I am so open-minded, I carry my brains around in a bag so they don't slide right out of my head and land on the floor. So, baby, what's you kink?
Grissom: Open-mindedness. *wink* *walks out of room, wiggling ass*
Greg: *watches said ass*
Emony: AHRG!!! NOOOO!!!! *covers eyes* There's no place like home! There's no place like home! Toto, is that you?

Not enough Nick at all, but what he did have .. man, I could just watch that guy walk around in those jeans and a shirt and one of those jackets all freaking day. *swoon* I also loved his exchange with Catherine.

Nick: Woah, I was expecting Grissom? Wtf? My life is so confusing. Things were so much better when I was on the same shift as Greg we were all on the same shift.
Catherine: You don't like having me as your boss *sexy eyes*
Nick: .... No, not really.
Catherine: .... holy shit ... *cries*

I'm paraphrasing, obviously, and adding some .. artistic details, hehe, but it amused me none the less.

The Catherine/Warrick stuff - be still my beating shipper heart!! Fantastic :) It's about time those two got down to some serious action. Dinner! It's a start :) If I weren't using my New Favourite Icon, Greg/Ecklie, I'd entirely be using my Warrick/Catherine icon :)

Grissom was good too. Nice to see him out and about, rather than sitting behind a desk for one scene. I know, Billy Petersen has to cut back his hours, and that's okay. But it's still good to see Grissom in the field for a bit. He's so amusing, flirting with all the ladies, and the "gay guy" line was great, unless you take it as context for the final exchange with Greg (omgnopleaseno).

Also, Hodges .. he's not so funny when he's in the show a lot. I think they're trying to mainstream him a bit. Not on. Not on! Although I still think he should totally date Mia, and hopefully he'll be better when he's on the show full time.

I think that's everything. Generally? I'm still feeling the love :) I am not, however, looking forward to the next however many weeks it is until new CSI. Woe. Woe!

Also - heh, fear the ironic song choice of my iTunes *eg*

ETA: Oh, also? Some of y'all need to teach your friends that when someone emails them, especially offering them a potential paying job, it'd be polite for them to reply. *scowl*

He, I didn't even get the sports betting system when Warrick explained it =) But yay! for him and Catherine going out for dinner. I liked King Baby better than this weeks episode, the betting stuff was boring, and the other case was sad in a boring way. But despite the boring cases I still liked it.. but nothing could ever be better than last weeks *Well aren't you lucky to have such a nice daddy* Heeeeee!! That had me giggling for ages..

That was pretty funny. I watched it again yesterday and caught Nick's expression - classic! :)

ahahahaha. The best part is... that's pretty much exactly what happened. But unlike you, I loved every second of it.

Please don't say that. I'm trying to be in denial about it ;)

I know, I know. Hey, maybe next time Greg and Ecklie will be the recipients of the big gay scene. :)

Well, they did have a fairly gay scene, two in fact, in King Baby, so I can't complain *g* Now all we need is a Greg/Nick scene - gay or otherwise, I'm not fussy - and life will be good again *g*

It's been a while since I've seen a good Nick/Greg scene of any sort. (Of course, I've been missing new episodes right and left.)

I want to see Nick and Greg work a case together. That would make life good again.

It's been a while since there was a Nick/Greg scene, good or otherwise. *sigh* I remain hopeful though .. for now.
