Hello, yes it IS a spoiler. Some of us aren't watching the NTAs, and while it'll probably be all over the news tomorrow it's already being reported on the national news and is therefore unavoidable, could we at least respect the old "spoiler cut" netiquette for a few hours, please?

No it wasn't you, yours was perfect. I saw yours and didn't even register, except "spoiler, don't read it", and then below it on my flist were two entries going "OMG XXX just happened!" *sigh* But it's up on the BBC News website already, so I suppose it's unavoidably "out there" now.

It's a balancing act really, when Billie Piper left I got told off on a comm for having it outside a cut (fair enough) and then I did an episode review on my own LJ and mentioned it but warned of casting news thinking if I put big casting news it would be obvious, and ended up annoying someone because they thought it would be something minor and it wasn't!....yeah I hope that made sense!

Either way, yes it is out there and wasn't going to remain hidden even from people who don't want to know but that doesn't mean you don't try.

Yes, exactly. It is a tough call sometimes, especially when something gets so widely covered that it is, or feels, unavoidable. But then, you never know who might somehow manage to avoid all forms of news media, etc., so I always feel it's best to err on the side of caution.

I think I preferred the news from your earlier post (the Tom Lenk one rather than the Freeview one - although I am gladdened by the news that your Freeview works once more).

I prefered the earlier news, but in a way I'm not hugely worried about this. It's just part of the show, and there's been so much speculation, it's not really unexpected. It won't be the same without Donna anyway, so perhaps it's best to start afresh.

Yes, I had several of those entries in the flist. And this is how I found out, because of the different country thing. I don't exactly mind because I would have found out anyway.

I was hoping, at first, that it might turn out to be avoidable, as this sort of thing is much more fun when you don't know it's coming. But it's been plastered all over the news here, so there was just no way it was going to be an optional spoiler.

It is a bit sad, as he's been really good, but as I said above to odycee, it won't be the same without Donna anyway, so perhaps it's best to have a fresh start with a new doctor and a new companion.
