Me neither. He was great - who knew! And Ianto was totally adorable in that office scene. And at all other times. Gwen still annoys the hell out of me, mind you, and I wish Tosh would get over Owen, but mostly - awesomecakes! :)
Gwen annoys the crap out of me as well. And were they going for Jack/Gwen subtext? With the Jack/Ianto text? While my slashy self is squeeing, I must admit to a bit of confusion too. Without Jack/Ianto, the Jack/Gwen stuff is typical of slow burning het (bleuch!). But with Jack/Ianto, I don't know what it's supposed to be. *confuzzled*

That's the thing about Torchwood - it's canon that everyone fancies and/or is doing everyone else. There's almost no relationships there that aren't canon in one way or another. Which, I suppose, is more like real life. It's not like Jack, especially given his pan-sexual approach to life, would, in reality, not be able to fancy both Ianto and Gwen (and Cpt John, and the Doctor, and Rose, and Martha, and that bloke at the end of the Universe, and .. well, you get the idea). He's making an effort to woo Ianto (or at least take him out for a nice meal before they shag this time), but he's never made that effort for Gwen because she's dating Rhys. Does that mean he likes Ianto more than Gwen, or Ianto is easier to get at than Gwen because he's single? Who knows?
I love Ianto's glee when Cpt John was going to explode. That was totally cute :D
LOL! I didn't think of that, but yes, I love it! I must admit, when he talking about the girl he loved who'd died, I kept going, "Was she a VAMPIRE SLAYER, by any chance??!" because I am so humorous ;)
It got a lot of good reviews beforehand from the journos who saw the preview tapes, so I was optimistic, but I was still surprise at how much I enjoyed it. I even squeed out loud a few times :)
He's hot IRL - charismatic is the word, really. I can't even pinpoint why, but he made my knees go weak and I'm SO not a Spike fangirl. But yeah, I've never found any of his characters that attractive. Until now. ;)
That's because when he looks at you it's like you're the only person in the Universe and you're special. I turned into a mushy squeeing fangirl after that.
