My cunning plan to leave all the difficult work until R got back today so she could do it herself has been foiled. Foiled! R is off sick. Goddamnit.

On the upside, it does give me more time to fix her Outlook, which I broke on Friday.

I'm in your position today, both bosses on holiday, co-worker off for 3 weeks and I've been dumped with her job in Export dept that I have no idea what to do!

Woe! Work sucks, man. Why do people just *assume* that we can pick up someone else's job with absolutely no training? When I asked about something last week, my boss emailed back saying "didn't R leave a handover?" And I was like, yeah, four sheets long But it couldn't and didn't cover every possible eventuality! What do they expect us to do, a brain-to-brain transfer of information? Grah!! Bosses!! Good luck!

All I know is that I hope I get one hefty bonus come Christmas! 3 weeks, how the hell am I going to cope!

It doesn't help when you explain to co-workers that you've never used the complicated invoicing/accounts package and they still refuse to help, ta very much matey!

The entire three weeks? That really sucks. Did you get any warning beforehand, or did they just throw it at you at the last minute? I suppose at least you get three weeks worth of "new skills" and all that, which may prove useful some day.

Your coworkers suck. Mine are currently putting up with me switching off the server at irregular intervals as I attempt to fix my colleague R's Outlook, which just happens to be on her computer - aka. the server. Damnit. I'm sure you'll get it figured out soon.

I had warning it was going to happen, but my 'training' for it was 45mins on Friday afternoon and some scribbled notes!

Aah, last minute training. Why does anyone ever think that's going to be enough? Work is so bereft of logic sometimes.
