Jan. 25th, 2005 10:40 pmI'll have to be reasonably brief again tonight, I'm sure those of you who don't skim this entry entirely will be very glad to hear. My trains were all running late tonight, so my journey home, which is meant to take about an hour and ten minutes, took about two and a half hours. I left the office at about 5.10pm, and got home at 7.30pm. Most of that time was spent hanging around on train station platforms too. Not fun!
So far, the job is okay. It's still a bit "first week", so I'm not entirely sure about it all yet, but I think once I've settled in to it, it'll be okay. The people .. I don't like them as much as I liked the people at my last job. I suppose it's to be expected in a company that organises events, they're a bit .. I don't know. It's all right though. I'm not here to make best friends with anyone anyway, and the bosses are both very nice people. And one of the people is leaving next week anyway, which I think will improve things.
I'm up in London again tomorrow, for a conference about telecoms. My first all day conference. For work, I mean. Should be fun. I've got to be there at 8.30am, so I'm off to bed after I've written this post. Suffice to say that things are going as well as can be expected, so far, but I am looking forward to being able to sleep at the weekend!

ETA: Ahrg! New CSI (season 5) starts on channel 5 next week (Tuesdays, 9pm), but my channel 5 reception is so crappy, I can't quite make out the picture! Maybe I should buy one of those arial enhancers or something. ... Or I could just rewatch my downloads of the s5 eps, obviously, but it's not the same as watching them on TV. Ahrg!
