Olympics?

I'm getting oddly enthused by the whole Olympic decision thing. Up until now, I've been all, "well, it'd be kinda cool if we got it, but we won't, so whatever". But now, it almost seems possible that we might beat Paris and win the bid. Which - and it feels odd to say this - would kick ass.

Mind you, if we do win it, I'll be 30 by the time it happens. Wtf? On that score, I'd rather not think about it at all.

Also? Paris will probably win. Ah well. Can always hop on the Eurostar.

My office is full of cynics. "But it'll be crap though," said my colleague A. "We couldn't even do the Millennium Dome right."

I, however, am excited :) Except about that whole "will be 30 when it happens" thing. That's not exciting. But.. we won something! How often does that happen?! :)

I was just checking out GMTV's listings for the week, to find out when the "Entertainment Today" bit is on (sadly it's after I leave for work, as apparently the Serenity trailer is going to be shown), and I spotted this:

Lost isn't even airing here, is it? I haven't seen it advertised at all either. Won't people just be "... wtf?"

My live-in landlord T has discovered fanfic. He's downstairs now, reading Fyre's The Eighth Weasley HP/Buffy crossover fic. I don't think he really knows what it is - he tried to explain to me this "original story" written by "someone who only uses one name, maybe because of the copyright" that he "found on the Internet and printed off." Gee .. tell me more about this earth thing called "original writing".

It's not by JK Rowling, you know. I thought some of you might be wondering.
