There seems to be a general consensus from my Hogwarts House poll that I am a Ravenclaw with slight dark-side leanings. That seems fair, although I think y'all need to review my a few of my recent posts.

Since polls are in the air right now, and having come home to the described situation, I thought I'd do another one, to gather some opinions.

[Poll #522984]

ETA: Bear in mind it's legal to drink at 18 here.

Today.. wow. What a day. I didn't even stop for lunch. Seriously, I'm eating my lunch now. I stayed on until 7pm too. But Female Boss was most complimentary and kept telling me it was very impressive and stuff. I was like, "yeah, let's just hold off on the back-slapping until it's all over". Don't like to tempt fate. There are still some things that need sorting out, and no doubt I will dream of attendee lists and last-minute delegates and stuff tonight, but for the most part I'm ready. Eep!

I've been nominated, sort of by default of being "the one who can do computer stuff" (not true), to take over running the PowerPoint presentations when our regular PowerPoint guy goes off to Poland to teach English for six months or something. I've got to learn how to do it tomorrow. At the same time as running my event. Eek! It'll all be okay, but it's a bit stressy at the moment. Although actually, for now, I feel relatively calm.

Tomorrow, however, I will be a nervous wreck until 5.30pm when it is all over.

Send good vibes my way, if you have any to spare. Ta. :)

Good vibes being sent. :)

What was the described situation? I mean rather, where was it described? In your poll?

Thanks :)

It was described in my poll, yes. If your teacher (in his mid to late 40s) invited your class (17 and 18 year olds) back to his house for an end-of-exams party, with alcohol, would you think it was a bit hinky? Clearly it wasn't my teacher, but you get the drift, yes? Or is it vague and unclear?

No, not vague and unclear, I just thought I'd missed a post or something, because I thought you'd described it earlier, but in fact you described it in the future. Which is perfectly clear, you see?

::good vibes::

Good luck! (I nearly spelled that 'look'. I clearly need to go to bed and stop lurking around on LJ like a big ole lurker)

It's too hot to voluntarily send anything. *sweats good vibes in your direction*

My brother once got stoned with our Language Arts teacher. But I think he was in his 30's. And drugs are not legal here, no matter how old you are. Hmm...on second thought, I'm not sure the situation is all that comparable. :-P

Powerpoint is pretty easy to pick up in a short amount of time. Good luck!

It's kind of kicking my ass, to be honest. I've got to learn how to embed one presentation in another or something. I've got Monday to do it though, and Microsoft help files, so .. yeah, kind of screwed. Eep! But there'll be a technician there, it'll probably be fine.

It depends on the teacher. If, say, he's the kind that plays in a rock band on weekends (knew one), or kind of a hippyesque type who's going to hand out beer and play old Mott the Hoople albums, it's probably okay. With some other profs, it'd be a bit weird.

However, if even the above types got completely hammered and started saying, "I love you guys so much!!!" all bets are off.

He isn't the kind of plays in a rock band on weekends, he's not the hip kind, he's the kind who goes on cycling weekends and plays croquet. I don't think anyone got too drunk though, fortunately.
