Work website
May. 27th, 2005 09:36 amWe're still looking for a web designer here at work. None of the so-called professionals y'all recommended last time ever got back to me, except
davechicken, who is really far, far too busy with Uni work and work-work to be taking on extra projects.
But if anyone knows of any good companies or actual professional designers who answer their emails when offered a potential job, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Date: 2005-05-27 02:11 am (UTC)I don't know about an American doing it. It's all proper and official business, with VAT payments and all those business-y things that I know nothing about, so outsourcing something to America, especially since we are a small company, might not be possible and/or wise. If your friend has a proper work website for him/herself or something though, send it my way and I'll pass it on to R.

Date: 2005-05-27 02:15 am (UTC)I'm serious. I have an exam today and one on Thursday but otherwise I am mostly free, half broke and needing to do something to get my mind off the hell.
I could come in and talk about it and get feedback and plot it and then come back and show someone(s) how to maintain it if you want. Of course tell me to fuck off if you like, but I could do with the money and I know I wouldn't charge you three grand.

Date: 2005-05-27 02:23 am (UTC)We're a heck of a long way away from you. It'd be quite a distance to come down and talk it all through when it might not even go ahead, but give me some links to other sites you've done and I'll pass them on to R for her to have a look, since she knows more about what we need than me, and I'll let you know what she says.

Date: 2005-05-27 02:27 am (UTC)Well there's freeware you can use as well, or very cheap copies of stuff just to keep on top of something someone made if you ever need to.
I did
www.georgianwindow.net
www.normanlongstaff.co.uk - which is crap because it needs keeping on top of almost constantly
www.penumbris.com which is my *cough* personal site and so... yeah. The www.penumbris.com/archive/index.php has a slightly more interesting layout but beware some of the stories? ;)
*nods*
Sorry to put myself ahead but eh, you need to in this world don't you?

Date: 2005-05-27 03:03 am (UTC)Orrr, there is also my uncle who is an excellent designer, and is currently in the process of entering the freelance design world, though his business website is still under development. I could still give you his contact information however. :))
