Are you thinking what we're thinking? Clearly criminal damage = bad, but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who looks at those hideous Tory scaremongering posters and thinks "yes, it is racist, you right-wing f*cktards."

Also, Design your own Tory poster. If I were more creative and also not at work, I'd post something witty and brilliant, but alas. Enjoy.

On a related note, Michael Howard is apparently in Nottingham today. Just FYI.

If I had access to a printer here I would copy all the big ones onto little, and stick them around my area, lol! Especially my nan's house. Hehe. Wouldn't dare in soton though - no idea what the local person is, there.

Hehe, that would be amusing *g* Southampton? There are two - Southampton Test and Southampton Itch. Depends where she lives. You can check by sticking her postcode into the BBC thingy (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/vote_2005/constituencies/default.stm). V useful. Doesn't mean you can stick posters up though. Just that you'll know where she is *g*

Oh, I know where my nan lives - same area as me *can see her house from my bedroom*, but she's a proper conservative voter (NO idea why) even though she ikes Anette Brooke (our local MP there). I might see what's the situation is in Southampton, though I cant imagine it will be a tory area! *laughs*

Thanks for the link! <3

Oh! My mistake. Misread your post, on account of being distracted by thoughts of Max Cunningham from Hollyoaks dumb. Heh. It is a useful link though. I believe both Southampton constituencies are Labour at the moment, although the surrounding ones are Tory or Lib Dem (Gosport?). Anyway, check the website for better info than my brain can produce :)

Shiny! I now know that I live in a Lib Dem area whatever. My part of Southampton is actually Romsey consituency (O_O - Romsey's the OTHER SIDE of town) so I must be on the border. but as you quite rightly pointed out, the two main Southampton ones are Labour. Which I could have figured out, given the sort of people who live here, lol. And at home, I am Dorset Mid and Poole North, which is *just* Lib Dem. It apparently has always shown a bias, but the Conservative guy was popular until Annette ran, and it is currently Lib Dem again. Must figure out how to get home and vote for her again, without missing any classes!! ...I'm sure you needed to know all that!

This is a fun toy! *plays for hours*

Aah Romsey. You might be interested in this link (http://romseyredhead.blogspot.com/) to Sandra Gidley's blog. Good stuff :)

Postal voting, my dear. Postal voting. You might not be too late. Check out the About My Vote (http://www.aboutmyvote.vo.uk) website from the Electoral Commission.

Heh, not at all. You should be able to get it through as an RSS feed (I think that's the right term) by just going to the FAQs and following the instructions for syndicating a blog.

Aw :) The Electoral Commission rock for having such a useful website.

Hah, yes indeed :)

I particularly like the 'it's not racist to deport Tories' one - I remember all sorts of people claiming they'd leave the country in 1997 if Labour got in and none of the buggers kept their promise. :(

Yes, criminal damage = bad, but in this instance it also = hilarious. I used to live in Longsight in Manchester and now I live in Nottingham and I recently went to Bristol. But it wasn't me! Honest!

That's good to know about Michael Howard. If I wasn't at work I'd pop to see him. Possibly with missiles. Kenneth Clarke was at the opening of the new building at my mum's country park on Monday. She takes the dog to work with her and in the middle of my mum's speech the dog started barking at him. I've trained her well (the dog that is, not my mum).

Ah, good dog! Shame she didn't bite him on the arse live on TV. That would've been funny.

*g* That is a good one. There's one, I don't think it's linked on those sites, where someone's pasted over the original add so it says: It's not CLEVER to WIN ELECTIONS on immigration, or something like that. I'll try and find it when I have a minute. That's my favourite one.

You know, I love your political posts. Even though I have only the loosest ideas about what exactly is happening over there, I like reading them. The political process in the UK is pretty much ignored by the US media, and LJ is really the only way I find these things out.

Actually, the US media ignores pretty much everyone's political happenings except our own. And Iraq's, but you don't even hear too much detail about that.

Also it's just nice hearing about people fighting on the side of good in places where I don't closely follow what's going on.

Heh. I'm in the U.S. and find it entertaining. And since I'm from Texas, I could probably come up with some kind of "It's not racist to imprison immigrants for stealing jobs!" slogan that would probably transfer to any anti-immigrant racism anywhere. :P

I'm glad I found out about Howard in Nottingham after I got home, because, otherwise, there would've been some serious smacking going on.

SMACKING!

I read that report and thought of you. It's probably for the best that you didn't smack him though. Realistically. Satisfying though it may have been.
