I've decided that the reason for the decline of our nation's youth is quite simple - Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow.

One of them is quite cute (although I can't remember which is which) but I don't get that show. Does that mean I'm getting old?

I think it's Dom who's the cute one, but even so, I was watching it for a few minutes just now and there was a sketch on Question Time. "This won't work," thought I. "The kiddies won't ever have *seen* Question Time." Ah, but I was wrong. The point was not an amusing and witty sketch on Question Time, tackling youth-issues through the medium of comedy. No, the point was to set up a vague sort of scenario that allowed children to throw poo-coloured mud at people. Clearly I am getting old too, but if getting old means not finding comedy in throwing poo, I'm fairly happy to be getting old.

I am glad to hear I am not alone in this realisation.

The word "duh" springs to mind. But it's worse on interactive, believe me.

As a teacher, I am morally obligated to loathe Dick and Dom, since it is entirely their fault that children across the nation are now highly amused by the concept of shouting "bogies!" at the most inopportune of moments.

I would've thought your kids were too old for that kind of thing. I guess not though, unfortunately for you.
