This week I have been mostly watching..
Nov. 17th, 2004 12:29 pmJust got back from signing off at the job centre. They pay me benefits up to Sunday, and then I am officially not unemployed. Yay :) The girl who I signed on with was so very happy that I'd got a job, it made me feel a bit more cheerful about it too. Finding somewhere to live up there is a bitching pain in the arse, but I'll manage, one way or another. Very few things in life are insurrmountable, and this is definitely not one of them.
I should do a proper post about last week's CSI, but I got caught up with the whole "job" thing, so I haven't had two seconds to think about it. Not really that much to say about it, to be honest. Louise Lombard wasn't as distracting as I expected, but she was clearly only there to show us who Catherine's going to lose out on Ecklie's job to. If she was meant to be some kind of love interest for Grissom .. well, no. Just no. I'm not a fan of Grissom/Sara, but I'd rather have that than Grissom/random MarySue. They also really need to figure out their signals. The Catherine/Grissom bit at the beginning with the tie - are we saying Cath/Gil, or was that meant to be a friends moment, or what? Do they even know? I think not. Maybe it's just part of Catherine's downward spiral into sex addiction. Come on, she so has issues atm.
I'd call the girl's death "death by misadventure" if I were a coroner, but I think coroners over here may be a little more reluctant to judge things a suicide than they seem to be in the US. I don't know though, that might just be a TV thing. And it's not like I'm actually an expert or a coroner or anything. Obviously.
No Greg/Nick scenes, but really, we had two last week, which is probably meant to carry us over for the next five or six episodes. Not much Sara in this one, but overall it wasn't too bad. I will have to watch it again though, when I am less tired out from house-hunting etc.
I will also briefly say a few things re: the other television I've been watching recently. Because that is all I have in my life atm.
I am very much enjoying Without a Trace at the moment, and Danny is my favourite in the world evah. They're showing season 2 once a week on E4, and season 1 every day. I saw most of season 1 when it was repeated over the summer - that's how I got in to the show - but these are the earliest ones, some of which I missed, so it's kinda neat seeing them again. Except for the Jack/Sam stuff, which makes me want to hurl. I'm very fond of Cold Case too. I'm such a Bruckheimer whore.
I am getting more fond of CSI:Miami - Speed is the best thing on that show by about five billion miles, and Caine sucks like I can't even describe. Every single word that comes out of his mouth, just makes me think "Yeah, Grissom would've done/said that *so* much better." He's really awful. His only logical function in the Bruckheimerverse can be to remind us all just how *good* Grissom is. But Speed yay :) And the women are becoming less annoying, except the police officer one who was married to Caine's brother. For goodness sake, she's a grown adult police officer! I think she could probably cope with her husband having had an affair. If she can't, she really needs a slap. Anyway, yes, it's not CSI, but it's better that being poked with a sharp stick, so I shan't complain.
I think I'm just weird, but the video to Eminem's "Mosh", which has been redone, post-election, makes me cry. Can't help it. Damn that Eminem! I always knew he was up to no good!
I wrote some Buffy fic yesterday, which I have now un-flocked, because I wantmore fb to share my Art with the masses. So, check that out if you want to. Please.
I think I shall go and watch Angel and have some breakfast now.
