So, the election result sucks. It really does. We all had such high hopes, such optimism, and now we're all stuck with Bush for another four years. Unless we get lucky and he chokes on another pretzel and this time the secret service are otherwise occupied checking up on people who write things like this sentence in their Livejournals. A girl can hope, eh?*

I'm sorry for those on my flist who are Americans, and therefore will feel the effects of this result the most, especially in those states which brought in anti-gay marriage laws and stuff. We did what we could. Turnout was high, and democracy did its thing. That's the thing about democracy though - sometimes the guy you want doesn't get in.

Anyway, enough about that. It's bad, but we just have to accept it and move on. Nothing can be done now.

They're rerunning season 6 of Buffy on Sky One at the moment, and today I happened to catch a bit of Wrecked, with Amy being a crack magic junkie and Willow and Rack. Made me think of DM AU :) Interesting to see that junkie!Willow (for whom I felt 0 sympathy, even when she was balling her eyes out. I am so bitter, yo) really didn't eat. I thought I'd made that up, but apparently Joss did and I borrowed it. Go figure.

*For the benefit of the FBI, etc: this is NOT a threat on Mr Bush's life. It is merely an expression of the hope that natural selection will take its course.

Made me think of DM AU

The question, my dear Emony, is what did it make you think? And most particularly, was it along the lines of, "Gosh, I think I'll write some of that now, and put in some lovely boy-touching to make Anna people in general happy."?

I am toying with a Wishverse Warren/Tucker one off thing. Toying, mind you. Like a cat with a piece of string or something.

It mostly made me think "there should be more black in DM AU. And more crackling like electricity. And more actual magic stuff." And also it made me want to write more, and if I weren't so tired, I might attempt just that tonight. But I am free tomorrow, so perhaps then I will get the next part done.

I think you should. Wishverse is much fun, and Warren/Tucker is always good. Combining the two - muchos darkness - can only ever be a thing of great, great .. greatness. See? Tired. But approving of W/T.

Ooh, crackling magic. I approve. And I also am in agreement re the no sympathy for Willow. Ever. Even if someone *accidentally* shoots her girlfriend while meaning (but failing) to shoot her best friend. I mean, overreact much???

Yeah, it's bitter and possibly a tiny bit angsty and features much drinking of beer. Also it's got the Sunlight Sphere in it. Because the Sunlight Sphere is handy when it comes to Brilliant Plans to Defeat Vampires.

Good, good :) Definite overreaction, and morally wrong also. Willow had no right to go flying around fl**ing people, or indeed sucking the magic out of them until they were dead, no matter what they'd done. She's not Joss God. *throws rocks at Willow*

Angst I like, beer I don't personally like, but in a fic context it is of the good. And the Sphere is always good, on account of it being shiny and cool.

Shh! Don't mention the fl**ing. Warren's maudlin enough. *throws rocks also* And there's one top in season 4 I'll never forgive her for. What was she thinking??!?!? She wore it to the party in The Initiative.

Who likes beer? Only maudlin guys on the run. And some other people. Mostly maudlin guys on the run, though.

Also, yes, I meant to say. I do remember an outline of your busy week that you posted late last week. Sleep well after your busyness. And dream sweet dreams of Warren and Tucker and crackling magic. And then write them down.

Sorry. I know the fl**ing is a very sensitive topic, but it's also one I feel strongly about, so sometimes I have to mention it, but I always use *s to hide it from the delicate eyes of Warrens. I have to admit, I don't think I ever really noticed Willow's clothing, but I am outraged on your behalf.

Mmm maudlin guys on the run. What could be better?

It hasn't been too bad really, but I think Monday and Tuesday are catching up a bit now, on top of my having been up until 3am watching the election results coming in, and then getting up at 9am so I was ready to go to the job centre. Tiredness. But not sleep yet. No. Caffeine! Haha! And hopefully W/T will follow tomorrow.

He didn't notice. He's too busy staring into his beer and arguing with Tucker. I'm not sure if they're going to get nekkid or not. They aren't making any indication either way.

Not much. Maudlin guys holed up in Vancouver, ha ha.

Tuesday would have killed me out flat if I were in your position. Then again, I lack your skills and qualifications for such a scenario so I suppose it's different.

Ahh, sweet, sweet caffeine. If only I didn't have to work. Not that I've done huge amounts in the last two days, but that doesn't mean I don't have to be up when the sun is still rubbing sleep from its eyes. Or when it's coming home after a hard day's partying in Tokyo, one or the other.

I'm glad to hear it. I wouldn't want to upset Warren. *pets* Nekkid or no, I'm sure it's all still good.

Tuesday didn't seem so tiring at the time, but I suppose it's mental stress or whatever. I have decided that I'm having a day off tomorrow. Nothing work-related will happen tomorrow, and I will just read fic, write fic (hopefully), and watch TV. Mmm :)

I don't think even the powers of caffeine are going to keep me awake long enough to watch CSI:Miami tonight, but damn it I'm going to try. *props eyes open w/ matchsticks*

It might be, it might not, who knows? I'm too tired to figure it out.

I'm sure it was stressful. A day off sounds lovely! A day reading fic would be just dandy. When's your mother returning? Are you going to be sitting there, idly drinking coffee and reading fic with the house all to yourself? If so, my envy is limitless.

My eyes are doing the matchstick thing already. It's only 9:04!

Heh, you'll probably read back over it tomorrow and either go "omg what crap!" or "omg what total genius!!"

If only there were enough fic out there to occupy me for a whole day. But then, I'll just have to take some of that time to write some of my own .. so it's probably a good thing that there isn't that much that I want to read that I haven't already. For most of the day, yes. She'll be at work from morning to some point in the afternoon, as she is every day, so I have total peace and quiet. Mmm peace and quiet.

I know! It feels like about midnight. *yawn*

No. We don't even have the hope of him dying, because then we'd be stuck with Cheney as president, which is probably worse.

I just re-read it. It's total genius, of course.

Given your arguments, I'm glad there isn't enough fic to occupy you for a whole day. It would be Wrong.

Oh, peace and quiet. I never have that. And if I move out, I'll have too much of it. It's a tough call. I really want peace & quiet, though, and a nice cup of tea. While you're sitting there tomorrow know that I am at work being utterly jealous of you.

It really does. Time changes suck yo.

Oh god .. that's a good point. Is there anything that could happen to get W out and force a re-election, or are you guys stuck with either W or Cheney for the next four years no matter what? That's so depressing. I had so much hope for that little pretzel.

I suspected it might be. All the elements were in place - Tucker, Warren, you writing.

I think I'm quite glad too. I really would like to get moving on DM AU.

I love my peace and quiet :) I'll think of you tomorrow while I am being both peaceful and quiet, and will send calming vibes your way. The tea I can't help with.

Good point. ;) lol

Yay, I second that, but as usual I do so in a relaxed fashion, indeed a perfect balance between encouragement and obsessive interest, but not too overpoweringly eager. Just so you don't feel, you know, pressured. You might be less likely to write that way. I have it down to a fine art.

Calming vibes would be good. The tea I can handle myself. But calming vibes are always nice.

Now I'm going to go get some comatose vibes while I sleep. It's 9:36. I'm so hardcore.

Hehe, and modest too .. ;)

You do, you're quite the expert in hitting that balance. I am consistently impressed.

Will do my best then *g*

Sleep well, and enjoy the book :)

So you heard about LJer Annie? Take care everyone and don't even say that you wish he is dead, things is going to get crazier.

The [livejournal.com profile] johnxjohn community was pretty disappointed too, people went through sobbing, but it's sounding hopeful again, 2008, 2008. We are halfway through, and Bush can't run again in 2008.

Couldn't avoid hearing about it - my entire flist went nuts. I doubt they'd even bother checking into me, all the way over here, but it's not good regardless that you can't trust other LJers not to "turn you in" for some passing comment.

George W Bush can't, but Jeb Bush can .. Still, let's just remain hopeful. It'll be okay.

//George W Bush can't, but Jeb Bush can //

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Dudes, this reminds me about a joke. God is creating places. He decided to make Canada, a beautiful land with intelligent media and friendly if annoying people. His angels of course fault it unfair, that Canada should have so much, so God compensated by creating America and filling it up with loudmouthed, bible-slamming, selectively moral, right-wing nutjobs to stick their noses in Canada from time to time...

Why can't America have more [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen and more Jon Stewarts?
