How can there be only 38 people with Catherine/Warrick listed, and 14 with Warrick/Catherine?! And goodness me, why is "going to special Hell" a rare one? Come on now, you all know you're going there. Might as well listed it honestly.
Since I left off the story half way through earlier, I will now explain how my broadband experience ended.
I posted on LJ a few times, ranting about how NTL were all bastards etc., and then I went and checked their website, which clearly stated that if you didn't have digital TV, you could get a cable modem instead. Naturally I was rather furious, so I rang customers services and after an alarmingly short amount of time on holding bitching at the recorded voice advertising NTL services (VOICE: "Brad Pitt? Cameron Diaz? What are you waiting for, get Front Row films through your cable box now!" ME: What am I waiting for?? I'm waiting to get off hold, what do you think I'm waiting for! What a fucking stupid question!" etc.), I got through to someone. She took my customer number and suchlike and was just looking up my details when the doorbell rang. "Oh crap," I said, or something similar. "Hang on a sec, I have to answer the door."
Still in my PJs and dressing gown (it was only about half past ten), I answered the door to find the two engineers standing there. "Hello again," they said. "We were wrong. You're down for a cable modem. Sorry."
In they came, I hung up the phone, and we set about figuring out how to solve the "no drilling through walls" problem. "We can put it through the loft," the chap said. "Jesus Christ!" I replied. "That sounds a bit dangerous!" Eventually we settled on the easiest solution simply being a big fat cable from the front room, out into the hall, round and into the dining room where the computer is. I can get a router and a wireless card at some point in the near future and set up a wireless network, but until then, it's just fat cables. There was some more messing around with changing the stuff in the box in the street and whatever, and TMO is quite perplexed by the entire process, but it's all working now, so I shan't complain :)
To summarise - I have teh broadband. All is good.
