Gwyneth, HBP, work

Before I forget, Gwyneth Dunwoody MP is a total legend. I meant to mention it on Wednesday, but got distracted. Yeah. When I grow up, I want to be just like Gwyneth. Well, maybe a little taller, but otherwise, just like Gwyneth.

A point of reference, as it is now just 15 hours to go - anyone who spoils me at all for HBP will be a). unfriended without warning, and b). hunted down and killed. I'm going to pick mine up at midnight (NO POWER IN THE VERSE CAN STOP ME!), but I won't get to read it until Sunday Saturday night, as I have to work on Saturday. So, if you write a LJ post about that bit when Harry's in China drinking magic beer with the pixies, or "that person who dies in chapter 7, you know, *that* one", be forewarned. We will not be friends for very longer after, and I suspect I will not be the only person you lose.

That said, I don't believe that anyone here would spoil. We're all fans, we all know the value of spoiler cuts and watching our words at times like this. But as a crazy, murdering, evil type once said, a vague disclaimer is nobody's friend.

I think I may've scared my boss PIF a little bit yesterday. I expressed the opinion that if any of the speakers for our two events changed their details, thus requiring me to reprint the delegate packs for these events, I would hunt them down and kill them. He seemed a little .. well, mostly amused, but he got that, "my god, it *can* raise its voice" look in his eyes that people always get when I threaten violence. Weird.

And with that, I must be off to work. My this has been a very violence-heavy post. I'm really very peaceful and loving-of-all-mankind.

Just a funny quote before I go out to pick up HBP. From this morning's Times - Hugo Rifkind, columnist, writing in the T2 about the hype surrounding HBP:

It's not like we don't already know what will happen, anyway. The speccy kid will be angsty all the time, and the ginger one will keep falling over. There'll be some reason why they're worried about being expelled, but they won't be. Then there'll be some sort of adversity whcih they triumph over, but in a bittersweet way, and still neither of them will have the balls to snog Hermione.

Hehe. We'll, let's just see, shall we :)
