Just back from our media reception. Things went well, as far as I know. Time went by so quickly! As well as the various media bigwigs who were there, none of whom I can remember, I met Austin Mitchell, Sandra Gidley, who I had a very brief chat with about Mike Hancock, and Jeremy Hunt, my very own MP, who .. I have to admit it.. who I got a bit fangirly over. "Ooh," I said. "You're my MP!" We had a brief chat about where I lived, where he lived, and what was going on at the reception, and then as he left afterwards he said, "Goodbye constituent!" He's really quite lovely. Damned shame he's a Conservative. If he wasn't, I may well have gone a bit weak-kneed over him. But he is, so I didn't. Obviously.
BBC event on Tuesday. Omgwtf! Met a few of the folk who are going to be there on Tuesday tonight. It's always interesting to put faces to names. I may go in to work for a few hours on Saturday to make sure everything is going to be ready for Tuesday.
Also, I'm going to apply for the job. Thank you all for your words of advice. Much appreciated. You're all quite right, I've really got nothing to lose. I've already planned my resignation speech too ;)
