I have a temporary living solution for Newbury. A B&B, but a very small one run by a friend of a friend of a work colleague of TMOs. So at least I won't be sleeping in a cardboard box in the town centre. I will be out of touch for a week, but I doubt you'll really notice much difference, except possibly fewer posts to skip over each day ;)

I watched the second half of Pride and Prejudice tonight. P&P makes everything better. Oh, Mr Darcy! *swoon*

Also, Anna wrote Tucker and Caleb fic today. Mmmmm. Go, love, adore. <3

ETA: Also, TMO has developed a habit of positioning the washing around where the computer is situated (I suspect she wishes to spy on me), and at the moment everything smells of bleach for some reason. Yuck! Bleach smell! Vile! :P

A cardboard box is never the best option. When do you head up there then?

Also, the smell of bleach makes me gag.

I am off on Sunday afternoon, and I start work (omg??!?! actually I haven't heard a word from them since last Friday, so I'm not entirely sure everything's still going ahead, but it probably is) on Monday 22nd. Eep?

I am only avoiding such a fate by not breathing. It is getting quite difficult, but it is the only solution.

Sunday and then work on Monday - That's really quick! I hope it all goes ok - have you started packing?! Eep indeed!

Are you blue from the not breathing yet?

Yeah, it's all been rather sudden. I haven't even begun to think of packing, and I imagine I'll put it off until last thing on Friday night, maybe even on Saturday night, because I don't want to go :(

Indeed, I must admit I gave up and took a breath, and now I am dead from bleach inhalation. The executor of my will is typing this message, per the instructions in my will.

No! A week? *gnashes teeth* *calms down* I am glad you have found a solution to your living problem, and won't be in a cardboard box. That would be bad. B&Bs run by people you vaguely know are better.

And thank you for the pimpage. :) <3

I know :( It's not good. But I think it's my only option for the immediate future. Hopefully I'll find somewhere of my own fairly quickly, but even then it'll likely only be a 6 month let, not a 12 month, so no broadband or cable :( Living in my own house is starting to look sucky. Although there are benefits, like no TMO.

Ymw :) <3

Goddammit. Worser and worser. This whole job thing is overrated. Though I do see the upside, I admit. Such a thought has occurred to me lately, too, once or twice or a million times.

You'll get flat rate, though, right? Annoying, but still access at no great phone cost.

Well yay that you found somewhere! Even if it's just temporary and not great, like the others have said, at least it ain't a cardboard box :D

And Newbury is bound to be better than Sunderland as a place, right?

:D

I know :( We need to get a move on with either becoming uber-successful, rich, independently financed writers, or marrying rich men who will give us money to stay at home and file our nails write fic all day long. And who will buy us cable and broadband, naturally. But for now, we must work, to pay for conventions and said internet access of our own and suchlike. Oh, woe is me.

Yes, I will, as soon as I'm settled somewhere at least semi-permanent.

Hahah, that's a good point. Newbury's a nice place really. Although in its defence, I did get quite fond of Sunderland by the time I left there. Or maybe that's just the nostalgia talking *g*

It's probably just the nostalgia :D

Although I do like Sunderland. But I think that's because I'm from there, it's in my genes. I can see how crap it is and yet, it's still my home!

Yes, I am the same with Portsmouth. I am quite viciously mean about the place, but then when I get back here after being away, it's just so good to see everything again. I suppose it's just that it's familiar, but there's something special about the place you grew up :)
