Flat? No, just very tired.

omg I am so tired I might just curl up in a ball and die. Flat hunting makes job hunting look like a stoll through a field of daisies! There are no decent flats in Newbury that aren't £££. Clearly I need a housemate. Damn you all, why do none of you live in/near Newbury!? It looks like I may have to commute via the trains and (currently, because of the rail crash last week) buses for a few weeks, until I find someone to share a house with, assuming I do. I just can't face living in a B&B for an indeterminate amount of time, and I don't think I can possibly afford somewhere on my own that isn't either a total dump or absolutely tiny or both.

So, I will investigate a housemate, and look into train times. But Newbury seems like a nice enough place, and I did get two pairs of work trousers, so it wasn't a total waste. And now, to sleep for a year!

How long of a commute is it? I hate commuting. I hope you find a place to live in Newbury soon. :(

But hey, work trousers! And with a variety of tops, those can last you most of the week. *g*

Just over two hours. It's not fun, not at all, very early mornings, and it may turn out to be just too expensive, but I really don't like the idea of staying in a B&B for a week or two. We'll see though, I've still got a week to figure things out.

I hope so! *g*

Criminy, 2 hours! I would no longer be able to be self-pitying. That would be miserable.

I wish you luck in finding a house-soulmate. You never know, I guess. Either that or the one instance of English rent-control.

for what its worth, house sharing ain't that bad. Actually, a good housemate can make life a lot more fun (esp. when all you have to do is say Jayne Mansfeld or ACORNS in a high squeaky voice in their general direction to watch them piss themselves laughing)

The trick is finding a GOOD housemate in a GOOD house.

Hang in there, you'll get it sorted! We're cheering you on! YAY EM!

Yeah, I wouldn't mind except that a). I am horribly anti-social, and b). I won't have a huge amount of choice in who I would end up living with. It might work out okay, and really it might be nice not to be totally alone in sorting out things like bills and whatever, but I'm unlikely to find my house-soulmate in a wanted ad in the local paper, unfortunately. Still, we'll see. Things will work out somehow :)

Dude, if it were possible I'd be over there in an instant to share a place with you. :-)

Ah, I wish you could :)
